I visited this assisted living facility several times to interview some of the residents for a study about seniors. I was a graduate student at the time and interviewed seniors throughout Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. Some Goodwin House residents had elected to participate in the study. Goodwin House was one of my favorite places to visit because there was a great sense of community between the residents there. Most of them lived independently, having their own apartments with the convenience of meal preparation, maid and medical services. The apartments were very nice, especially on the top floors.

After a thorough exploration of our area’s retirement options, we decided we wanted to stay put in our beloved home of 32 years. After reviewing our finances and consulting with an elder care attorney, we found that the support and flexibility of Goodwin Living at Home was the best solution for our needs.
